Mission Statement

Members of the Connecticut North Men's Senior Baseball League (CNMSBL), a local chapter of the national Men's Senior Baseball League, formed the Connecticut Baseball Charitable Foundation, Inc. (CBCF). The CBCF formed as a Not For Profit corporation, and its mission is to promote and support other tax-exempt organizations (IRC 501(c)(3)) in their important works. The Board of Directors will meet annually to choose those organizations, which have an impact on players in the CNMSBL and their families. There is no application or other formal process for charitable consideration. Rather, the Board will decide on an annual basis the I.R.C. 501(c)(3) organizations to support.

The members of Board of Directors believe that through the mutual love and enjoyment of the great game of baseball we have developed a charitable entity that has the ability, through CNMSBL volunteers to promote baseball as a charitable vehicle to support worthy I.R.C. 501(c)(3) organizations. In 2010, the intended recipients are the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The Board has created a fundraising event called "Step Up To The Plate – A Charity Baseball Marathon" 24-hour baseball game to raise funds.
